YOUR FIRST USEFUL OBSERVATION

The opening idea

A fixed cat removes a whole column and the diagonally touching cells in the neighboring rows. Combine that with a one-cell region.

Cat coordinates

  1. R1C2Row 1, column 2
  2. R2C4Row 2, column 4
  3. R3C1Row 3, column 1
  4. R4C3Row 4, column 3

The 4 cats occupy distinct rows, columns and regions. Neighboring rows place cats at least two columns apart, so no cats touch at a corner.

Why the key move works

Claim the single top square at R1 C2

This color region has only R1 C2. Placing its cat also removes column 2 from every other row.

Complete solving process

All steps are shown below. The route uses rule-based deductions and explains each forced square or exclusion. You can use the answer above to check your board without reading the whole sequence.

01

Keep the starting cat at R2 C4

Row 2, column 4 and its pink region already have their cat. R1 C3 and R3 C3 also touch this cat diagonally.

Outlined cells show this step’s change. Cats and X marks carry forward.

Resolve the cyan bend at R3 C1

In row 3, column 2 is used, column 3 touches the starting cat and column 4 is used. Only column 1 remains, so the cyan cat is forced here.

Finish the yellow region at R4 C3

The occupied columns are now 1, 2 and 4. Row 4 must use column 3, which is the last yellow cat.

Step 4 · Finish the yellow region at R4 C3

What can go wrong on Level 2?

  • R1 C3 touches the starting cat at R2 C4, so it cannot be used.
  • The cyan cells in the left column and R3 C2 belong to one region, even though the shape bends.

Audit the row, column, colored region and immediate diagonal neighbors after every cat. If your copied board gives no solution, check uncertain X marks before changing a region boundary.

The lesson to carry into the next board

A fixed cat removes a whole column and the diagonally touching cells in the neighboring rows. Combine that with a one-cell region.

On your next puzzle, look for the same type of constraint before choosing a square. A useful question is: “Which row, column or region now has fewer candidates because of my last cat?” Keep the answer tied to a specific marked cell.

This guide covers the mobile-game board visible in the linked Nasir Ali Gamer recording. Its region geometry, starting cat and completed cat locations were visually checked against the extracted opening and final frames; a solver verified the unique legal solution. Region numbers are arbitrary identifiers. Compare the opening screenshot with your board before following the coordinates.

Level 2 questions

What is the Meowdoku Level 2 answer?

For this 4×4 recorded board, the cats belong at R1C2, R2C4, R3C1, R4C3. Compare the opening regions and given cats before applying the answer.

Why does the video use a different move order?

Several forced moves can be available at once. The written guide orders them to explain a clear deduction chain. Rejected trial crosses in the source video are not placements to copy.

What if my board is different?

Use the Meowdoku solver with your exact region map and known cats. A different map can have a different answer under the same number.
