Local game progress
The game uses local browser storage to keep multiple journey, daily, practice and shared boards, cat/X marks, elapsed time, hint use, skipped levels and personal completion records. This storage belongs to your browser on this device. Retry saves the earlier Journey attempt and starts fresh while keeping historical achievements. Optional goals, chapter gifts, the cat’s name and outfit, key-step attempts and training results also stay on this device. The earlier single-board save is retained and migrated using its actual board. To remove all local data, clear this site’s data in your browser settings. There is no website account or cloud-save service in this version.
Cat companion preferences
The floating cat remembers its position, visibility, animation preference, name and earned outfit in this browser. These preferences are separate from puzzle progress. Petting and feeding cooldowns last for the current page session. Short chat inputs choose prepared replies on your device; they are not sent to an AI service or saved as a conversation after reload. Clearing site data also removes these preferences.
Puzzle sharing
Creating a short challenge link sends the actual region layout, starting clues and selected challenge target to our Cloudflare-hosted sharing service. A help link also includes your selected cat and X marks. It never includes the solution, your cat’s name, chat, account information or full browser save. The validated puzzle is stored for 30 days and can be read by anyone who has the random link. Copy or Share lets you choose where to send that link. Received boards are validated again in the browser. A short session cache on the creating browser lasts up to 15 minutes to help a newly created link open promptly. Local preview links last only until the preview server restarts. Older links that encode puzzle data in the URL fragment continue to work.
Solver inputs
Entered region maps, cats and marks are processed in the browser. They are not sent to an application backend for solving, and this solver does not save a board for retrieval after a page reload. If you copy or share a board yourself, your selected sharing service handles that action.
Tutorial videos and external links
Video players are loaded only after you choose to watch. The player uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed domain, but YouTube may still receive network and device information when it loads. Opening official app or source links takes you to external websites with their own privacy policies.
Optional Google Analytics
On whiskerdoku.com, we offer optional Google Analytics 4 statistics to understand which guides are useful and where players need help. The Google tag loads only after you choose Allow. Choosing No thanks keeps playing and guide reading available without loading it. Your choice is saved in this browser; use Analytics preferences in the footer to change it later. Local development and preview domains do not send these statistics.
When enabled, Google receives page visits and limited events such as starting or completing a puzzle, requesting help, skipping a level, finishing a key step and choosing a tutorial video. Puzzle events contain the mode, board size, level number, help count, goal outcome and completion duration. We remove URL query strings and fragments and keep only the referring website’s origin. We do not send your cat’s name, chat or report text, board layouts, cat/X marks, shared puzzle data or local save and attempt identifiers. Automatic enhanced measurement is disabled in the Analytics data stream.
Google Analytics can set first-party cookies that identify this browser pseudonymously and receive ordinary device and network information. Our tag requests a 90-day cookie duration, disables Google advertising signals and ad personalization, and does not set a website account identifier. Rejecting statistics disables further tracking by this tag and removes its accessible Analytics cookies; information already received is handled under Google’s privacy policy. This site has no advertising network in this version. The production host may keep ordinary access logs.
Correction reports
The report form copies text locally and does not submit it. Share only the information necessary to explain the issue; account secrets are not needed.
