YOUR FIRST USEFUL OBSERVATION

The opening idea

After R1C4 and R2C6 are placed, teal’s upper and right-edge candidates all disappear. Its only legal square is R5C5.

Cat coordinates

  1. R1C4Row 1, column 4
  2. R2C6Row 2, column 6
  3. R3C3Row 3, column 3
  4. R4C1Row 4, column 1
  5. R5C5Row 5, column 5
  6. R6C2Row 6, column 2

The 6 cats occupy distinct rows, columns and regions. Neighboring rows place cats at least two columns apart, so no cats touch at a corner.

Why the key move works

Place magenta at R1C4

The magenta singleton in the first row is R1C4. Place the cat and close row 1 and column 4. R2C3 and R2C5 are diagonal neighbors and must also be crossed. The broad pink area loses its top row immediately.

Read the regions before choosing a cat

pink: 14 cells; magenta: 1 cell; teal: 10 cells; rose: 1 cell; violet: 1 cell; yellow: 9 cells.

Count the remaining candidates in the narrow regions before choosing a square in the larger colors. Follow every region boundary; a color’s cat completes its entire region.

Complete solving process

All steps are shown below. The route uses rule-based deductions and explains each forced square or exclusion. You can use the answer above to check your board without reading the whole sequence.

01

region 1 has exactly one available square

Place magenta at R1C4

The magenta singleton in the first row is R1C4. Place the cat and close row 1 and column 4. R2C3 and R2C5 are diagonal neighbors and must also be crossed. The broad pink area loses its top row immediately.

Outlined cells show this step’s change. Cats and X marks carry forward.

Step 1 · Place magenta at R1C4
02

region 3 has exactly one available square

Place rose at R2C6

The pale rose singleton at R2C6 is the second anchor. Its cat closes row 2 and column 6 and crosses R3C5 diagonally. That final diagonal is the reason you cannot keep a teal candidate in row 3.

Step 2 · Place rose at R2C6
03

region 2 has exactly one available square

Teal is forced to R5C5

Review the teal region from top to bottom. Rows 1 and 2 already contain cats; R3C5 touches R2C6 and R3C6 shares column 6. R4C6 also uses column 6. In row 5, C4 and C6 are occupied columns, leaving only R5C5. Place teal there, then cross its row, column and diagonals.

04

region 4 has exactly one available square

The violet cat is R4C1

Violet is the single square at R4C1. Place its cat and cross column 1. R3C2 and R5C2 touch it diagonally. Both belong to pink, so this anchor removes two particularly tempting pink candidates at once.

Step 4 · The violet cat is R4C1
05

region 0 has exactly one available square

Pink reduces to R3C3

Pink’s rows 1, 2 and 4 are closed, and its remaining R5C2 cell is unavailable. In row 3, C1 shares the violet column, C2 touches violet, and C4 shares the first anchor’s column. R3C3 is the only survivor. Place the pink cat and close column 3.

Step 5 · Pink reduces to R3C3

region 5 has exactly one available square

Yellow finishes at R6C2

The last empty row is row 6. Columns 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 already have cats, leaving only column 2. R6C2 belongs to yellow and is far enough from the neighboring R5C5 cat. This completes the six-row solution.

What can go wrong on Level 14?

  • R3C5 cannot hold teal because it touches R2C6 diagonally.
  • R5C3 may look like a yellow option before you close column 3, but the solved pink cat at R3C3 rules it out.
  • Do not mirror the final answer from another Level 14 screenshot: first match the magenta R1C4 and rose R2C6 singleton positions.

Audit the row, column, colored region and immediate diagonal neighbors after every cat. If your copied board gives no solution, check uncertain X marks before changing a region boundary.

The lesson to carry into the next board

When a region spans many rows, trace it row by row after placing anchors. On this board teal becomes a singleton through occupied rows, occupied columns and one diagonal.

On your next puzzle, look for the same type of constraint before choosing a square. A useful question is: “Which row, column or region now has fewer candidates because of my last cat?” Keep the answer tied to a specific marked cell.

Board transcribed from the original Meowdoku app shown in Nasir Ali Gamer’s linked tutorial. Every region and cat coordinate was independently checked against the opening and completed video frames. Exact constraint enumeration found one solution, and the written logic uses only deterministic rule deductions. The different layout on meowdoku.app at this level number was rejected rather than treated as the original board. Videos may include rejected trial moves (orange crosses) or a different move order; those are not steps to copy. The diagrams and text teach a separate verified route for this exact video layout. No app build number is visible in the tutorial, so this guide identifies the version by source video and board shape.

Level 14 questions

What is the Meowdoku Level 14 answer?

For the 6×6 video board, place the cats at R1C4, R2C6, R3C3, R4C1, R5C5, R6C2. Match the region shapes first.

How do I get unstuck on Meowdoku Level 14?

Teal should have only R5C5 after the first two cats. Check that R3C5 is marked, then use violet R4C1 to finish pink.

Why does my board look different?

This guide records a specific original app walkthrough. Different game versions, progression or level ordering can show another board with the same number. Compare the opening screenshot and use the solver for a different layout.
